Following an Initial Assessment, the Occupational Therapist can provide ongoing evidence-based therapy and rehabilitation according to the client-centred goals. Need help sourcing appropriate equipment to promote independence, safety or to optimise your performance? The OT will work with you to identify, source, trial, fit and use appropriate equipment. Such as mobility aids, scooters, bathroom aids, dressing, kitchen, ramps, rails, technology and/or manual handling, hoists and transfer aids.
The OT will assess your environment, discuss your goals and recommend and assist with minor privately funded home modifications, ramps and rails.
Depending on your individual needs, the OT will assess your fall risk and provide preventative strategies, equipment and techniques to prevent the risk of falls within your home and community.
Pressure injuries (PI) are 95% preventable. The OT will assess your current risk and provide prevention strategies, techniques and devices to reduce your risk of developing a PI or managing an existing PI.
